If you are still seeing worms in your pet’s faeces despite using VetBox products correctly, please contact us so we can offer tailored advice.
Unlike flea treatments, wormers only kill the worms present on the day of treatment and do not provide ongoing protection. This means your pet could, in theory, pick up a new worm infection the very next day.
The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) recommends worming adult cats and dogs every 3 months. However, some pets are at higher risk of frequent reinfection and may benefit from monthly worming.
This includes pets who:
Like to scavenge or eat things they find outdoors
Live near farmland or areas with livestock
Eat a raw food diet
Are walked in places with a high dog population
If your pet fits into any of these categories, a monthly schedule can offer more reliable protection.
